About AIMMS

Founded in 2022, Australian Integrated Marketing and Merchandise Services (AIMMS) is a not-for-profit initiative inspired by the lived experience of Shilpa Kumar, who was born with cerebral palsy and has faced ongoing barriers in accessing meaningful opportunities within the community.

AIMMS was created to provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive volunteer platform where people with disabilities, unpaid carers, and seniors can come together to build confidence, develop social connections, and engage in creative and community-based activities.

Our focus is on participation, inclusion, and empowerment — not employment. AIMMS is not a job provider, and there is no expectation of work, output, or performance from participants.

Volunteer with AIMMS – Be Part of Something Meaningful

At AIMMS, participants are invited to engage in voluntary activities at their own pace and comfort level. These activities are designed to support:

• Social interaction and community connection
• Confidence building and self-expression
• Creative engagement through arts, events, and shared experiences

Participants may choose to share their interests and talents in supportive, non-commercial community environments alongside community members and artists.

All activities are conducted in a safe and supportive environment with appropriate guidance and supervision where required.

Participation is entirely voluntary, and individuals can choose to engage or withdraw at any time without obligation.

Inclusive Participation

We believe in turning potential into purpose by creating opportunities that support independence, dignity, and personal growth.

AIMMS does not require participants to undertake any tasks, generate income, or provide services. Participants are not involved in income-generating work or commercial service delivery. All activities are optional and designed to enhance wellbeing and community inclusion.

Recognition & Appreciation

From time to time, AIMMS may provide small tokens of appreciation such as certificates or gift vouchers.

These are not guaranteed, not linked to hours, attendance, participation, performance, or outcomes, and do not constitute wages or payment.

Our Launch

AIMMS was proudly launched on January 26, 2023, by Deputy Mayor Julie Shannon and Councillor Sophie Ramsey from the City of Melton — a milestone moment celebrating inclusion and community spirit.

Compliance & Participation Statement

AIMMS (Australian Integrated Marketing and Merchandise Services) is a voluntary, not-for-profit initiative that supports social inclusion, confidence-building, and community participation for people with disabilities, unpaid carers, and seniors.

AIMMS is not an employment service, job provider, or NDIS registered provider. Participation in AIMMS is entirely voluntary and is not linked to any NDIS plan, funding, or service delivery.

Participants are not employees, contractors, or workers of AIMMS and are not required to perform tasks, meet targets, or provide services.

From time to time, AIMMS may provide small tokens of appreciation (such as certificates or gift vouchers). These are not guaranteed, are not linked to participation, and do not constitute wages or payment.

AIMMS does not operate as a commercial enterprise for participant activities.

AIMMS operates independently from any NDIS service providers, including Australian Integrated Care Services (AICS), with no referral obligations, financial relationships, or service dependencies. Participation in AIMMS does not influence or impact any supports received.
